Robotic Run

Our human body and mind are both weak, especially the body, I remember when I started to train, my body is not able to withstand even 1km, and started to "complain" to my brain, if I were to subdue to my body, I will stop, but I still have that bit of determination to carry on, at a slower pace though, and managed to complete my target distance. Gradually I discovered a way to keep me running, continously and at a constant pace, even my body is feeling fatigue. I called it Robotic Running, if you watched X-Men Origins: Wolverine, at the last scene, Silverfox uses her telepathic influencing powers to command Stryker to walk away until his feet bleed, of course we do not have Silverfox powers, and neither we want to run until we die. Simply, I am just using a self-hypnotise method to command our body to do what we want. I am not referring to those deeply asleep and not knowing what you are doing unconsious state of hypnotisation, but rather you know you are doing it, and able to stop whenever you want.

The Hypnosis

So how do you achieve self hypnotisation? Using my own words and some help from the internet description (like the wiki page), I shall try to introduce this method to whoever is interested.

You do not start to hypnotise before run, but do it when you are feeling tired and feel like giving it up and stop running before you reach your target distance.

I will state an example, if running around a track, you can try to focus on the stadium light, they are usually quite strong so focus from a distance. Look at the light and try to free your thoughts, easier said than done, but its really not very difficult, just look at the lights and think how bright they are and slowly let the light consume you.

When you are doing it, you will not think of how tired you are, but rather your actions will continue as before, that is running at the same pace. At the beginning, the attention span is quite short, you will tend to snap out of the concentration very fast because of the fatigue, but as you practise the technique, you will last for at least another 1km.

For me I have yet to reach very far, but I am able to switch my focus object, I can use clouds, trees, something far away and shapeless, I can even repeat a familiar melody in my head and get switch off for a moment from my tiredness. It helps to improve your limit bit by bit, its not meant to help you achieve the distance you did not train.

Final note...

It is meant to help beginner to improve their distance, we still need to train the hard way, and also know your body, stop when it is really tired and push when it is just slacking, live well and eat well, say no to drugs, and you will feel good at the end of the day.
